I have pictures, but I'm too lazy to put them onto the site. I'm sorry!)
For a teenage boy living off of junk food, Daniel has exceptionally clear and pale skin. Unfortunately, his diet of fat, salt and sugar has not been restrained when it comes to his weight. He is overweight, nearing obese. Although he may be self-conscious at times, he holds himself as if he is the most confident person in the world.
His face is pretty (in a feminine sort of way). He has angular and sparkling eyes, dark brown in colour, almost black. His lips are half-full and always hinting at a smile. His nose is slightly freckled, but other than the occasional blemish and a slight shadow of facial hair, he usually has no problem looking young.
He can usually be found in daggy clothing or his pajamas, because he spends most of his time in his room anyway. When he's forced to dress tastefully, he wears jumpers and jeans, because they make him feel slightly skinnier. Sometimes he wears shoes, but most of the time he goes around bare foot.
personalityLike his shift species, Daniel is bouncy and happy. Although he spends most of his time in his room, on his computer, he is an optimistic guy and always friendly. He accepts everyone for who they are, very really judging. He does not understand the concept of boundaries or personal space, happily getting up into the face of anyone. Unfortunately, this has caused a lot of people to label him as an annoying nerd or someone looking for a fight.
Daniel's always been a quick-learner (yet insanely stupid and forgetful). When he was younger, his mother taught him how to read and write by herself, because as a family they couldn't afford school fees. His father gave him lessons on drawing, because they both shared the passion. By the time he was eight, he could get by just as well as any other child. Now he's fluent in English and Mandarin and spends most of his time coding sites of the 'net.
historyLife with Daniel's parents was simple and sweet. He could not afford schooling, but his parents were caring and strict, so he learned quickly. He was always quick to set goals for himself, but would forget them just as easily. He always loved playing, especially with the other kids. People tended to like him because of his trusting and boisterous personality. Of course, he always met some cruel bullies, taking advantage of the young boy with no idea what he was doing.
When he was eight, he and his 'friends' went to the local market, planning to buy lunch and then throw stones at some cows. One of his friends, Mike, told him to steal a very expensive fruit. Daniel had no idea what it was, but Mike fed him lies, convincing him that it was really his and he just couldn't carry it. Daniel took it.
Two weeks later, he realized what had happened and panicked. Someone was sure to find out and he didn't want to get caught. He spun into a small depression, not eating for a few days and refusing to leave the house. Before his depression had ended, Daniel's father seemed to have guessed something was wrong and proposed they move to a different country. Without Daniel's mother.
Anxious for a new start and a clear conscious, Daniel agreed.
To this day, he wonders why his mother never joined them, but assumes she's fine, because he receives letters from her. (They're actually sent by his father, Ian.) He feels as if he has a small hole in his chest, longing for her, but he feels that one of his many crushes could also fill this whole - and they would be much easier to contact.
relationshipsHe's never been in a proper relationship, but he has plenty of crushes on people at his school (and even people in the apartment). He hopes to kiss a girl before he turns eighteen. Somehow, he doubts it.
