[glow=red,2,300]What makes you so dam unique?[/glow]
Name: Rubi..learn to love it.
Age: 20
Gender: uh, can you not see the DaisyDukes? Of course I’m a girl.
Sexuality: Bisexual.
Shift: Wolf and--..no im not some weregirl. Don’t even crack that joke with me…Im half husky as well, on my mom’s side, my fur changes colours as does my hair when in human form..
Appearance: Well, I think the closest person I could think of that looks like me would have to be Lisa Bonet, seeing how we’re both mixed, Father’s black and my Mother white. Although I envy her flatter chest… My hair lightens to a dark-hazel brown, never black like hers, but a subtle difference when it's at it's darkest. I am also a tad bit more muscular than her, and my eyes can darken or occasionally..well..I’ve been told it looks like they..uhm..flash? Like when you’re looking at the round-ish edge of a nice car, and another car drives by and you see their headlights sort of run over the car from it’s reflection?..agh, I can never explain myself…Anyways, my eyes are weird. Oh! And I never take off my choker, ‘tis black with a red ruby pendant.
[[Broken down into basics]]
Height: 5'3.5" yes. im short. but you sure as hell don't wanna mess with short people.especially not this one.
Weight: 132lbs.
Build: Busty; fit.
Distinguising Features: Black choker w/ ruby pendant
Personality: I admit I can be a bit of a bitch, and I’m stubborn. But, if I like you and we’re friends, you’ll see how I can be quite the outgoing/nice person (I laugh… a lot), plus I’ve been told that I’m supposedly good for advice..I get touchy over a person’s /thing’s rights, and things as simple as using “gay” as a derogative term. I enjoy reading, drawing, and acting, but I never claimed to be good at any of it. Anything else you’d just have to stick around to find out.
History: *sigh* alright, here it goes. I was born in a small hospital by the savannah in Trinidad & Tobago, a couple of small islands in the Caribbean that aren’t too far north of Caracas, Venezuela. I was named after the fact that - as a baby and onwards - I was strangely attracted to the colour red, even when my mom would blush I’d try to get my hands on her cheeks. It’s died down a bit, red is simply my favourite colour now. Although my favourite thing in the world, beating my mom’s milk even, was my mom’s old ruby pendant, real too. It’s this one right here on my choker *touches it*. It was given to her by my father’s mother, as a gift for when they’re first year together as an engaged couple had passed, the wedding and the mother’s death not too long after, so I’ve never met any of my grandparents..
My mom and dad raised me with love, but not for too long..We moved around a lot between the islands, trying to stay out of trouble, as my Mother was a shifter, husky, and my Father a wolf…*sigh* when I was 10 my dad got into a fight with some other wolf, n lost… badly. So of course that was rough, but my mom n dad had already made it somewhat clear to me how he was in danger. A couple of years later, a few weeks after my 14th birthday actually, my mom and I got into an accident, she didn’t make it through after a couple days in the Intensive Care Unit.
After that I found myself headin’ over to Miami where a friend of my mom’s was staying, Ms. Hancock *smiles* she was an English teacher and also a shifter, but into a golden retriever. At first she was teaching 5th graders, and a few years later, we re-located to Orlando, where she taught 10th graders. Unfortunately, right before it would’ve been year after the move she was hit by a bus… but by then I had graduated my High School and had just been waiting for her school year to end, using the time to figure out what I wanted to do. So since the funeral I had stayed at her place for a bit, before going back to Trinidad to try and get as much of my parents stuff to try and figure out where I could go, or at least to salvage the relationship we had.
I had found out about Verge not too long ago, and so I flew over to New York, stayed to see a couple plays, and then prepared for the flight I’d be taking. I had to take a bus that morning, and since I was apparently the last stop, I had to sit next to this one girl, an Australian, pretty. We found ourselves talking and laughing, trying not to make a scene that early in the morning on a bus, not too long after I had gotten on, the bus got hijacked by a dunce with a gun. I mean, I wasn’t feelin’ all that brave what with the gun not being too far off from my face. By then the bus had started to skid out of control, almost crashing. Thankfully I had changed in time to jump from the seat, running for the now available exits, before turning to see how I could try and help, thankful that the humans had already begun running out, carrying some, waking up others, all in a panic but managing to be sensible enough not to leave anyone behind. The next thing I knew I saw was a strange animal running past me, something about it seemed familiar, so I couldn’t help following it into an alley, where I watched it change back into the girl I was sitting with, Kaiya or sumthin. I changed back, watching her with wide eyes.
We’ve kept in touch since. I’ve been stayin’ in a hotel in Texas, while she was staying with a step sister, I soon got word that they were going to run away, on account of her father being an ass or sumthin’… selling them if I remember correctly.. So that brings me to right about now. *shrugs* I hope this Verge place is as safe as it sounds..

*She held out her hand to me. Her hand. A few seconds ago it had been a paw, Kaiya’s paw? I looked up at her, eyes wide as I changed back to my human form, looking her over, blinking a few times before hearing her question* I guess I already answered your question, huh…so you’re a shifter too then? Obviously. *trying to clear my mind as I take the all of the past 7 minutes in, unconsciously rubbing the ruby that rested in the hollow of my throat* if you don’t mind me asking..what the hell are you? ..Tasmanian tiger, never heard of it.. *looks around before starting to walk out the alley, looking around again, I cant help but bite my lip before crossing the street; trying to see if I could get into the bus. Raising my eyebrows, I see the hijacker laying on the floor in a poor of his own blood coming from the long, and obviously deep, bite he’d received from..what seemed to be, Kaiya’s snout perhaps? She did have a strangely long snout..*well shit… *Looking at the state of the possible entrances, I changed back being careful as I crept back into the bus, seeing my stuff and quickly grabbing what I could between my jaws, dragging it out before returning and pulling out the rest, along with Kaiya’s bag. Changing back I picked up my stuff and headed back to the alley, throwing the girl her things before taking out a cell phone, about to call the authorities when I hear sirens, closing it back* alright, well since I have your info, I’ll keep in touch with you. I’m still gonna heading over to Orlando, so if you ever wanna meet up, I’ll be there. Now if you’d excuse me, *heads for the other end of the alley, looking around before catching a cab*
