Name: Edmund Clement
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bi-curious
Shift: Black Flying Fox; 6 foot wingspan
Appearance:
He is a fan of casual dress clothing, ranging from simple vests and dress pants. He rarely ever wears sneakers, only casual dress shoes like boat shoes and occasionally flip flops. He likes looking nice but also likes being comfortable.
Personality: A quiet bookworm, Edmund likes the quiet life. Nothing would make him happier than being able to sit all day and read. Ever since he was small he was soft-spoken and rather shy, simply because that was the world he was exposed to. He didn’t avoid attention per se, but he was always terrible at starting conversation so he learned to simply not approach others. He was always presented to his mother’s rich friends and attended fancy parties so he was raised to be quiet and polite. He simply never grew out of the habit.
History: He was raised an only child by his single mother Sarah Clement. His mother inherited a lot of money from her mother before her and, combined with a prestigious job, she and Edmund lived pretty well off. They weren’t grossly rich, but living was easy for them.
Edmund was schooled at a prestigious private boarding school, and it was here that his shy mentality became set in stone. Not as rich as many of the kids there, he was afraid of condemnation so he simply didn’t give anyone the opportunity by not approaching anyone. He read, studied, and got excellent grades – good enough to skip eighth grade. It was in high school that his dormant shifting abilities rose to the surface, as he was storing some books in his locker. He managed to jump into his locker before numerous people noticed, keeping it slightly cracked so he could escape later. When the halls were cleared he hid in the bathroom until he shifted back, confused, terrified and in pain.
He finished his schooling at age seventeen and went on to get a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, though he had no idea what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. He contemplated being a teacher, but decided he wouldn’t like the constant attention pinned on him. He considered research from home, but everyone relied on the internet these days and he was not very technologically savvy. So he decided to try to become an author – after all, he adored reading, and he thought it would be amazing to have his own words read one day.
He has been writing a fiction novel ever since then, working part time at a nearby café and helping his increasingly sickening mother around the house.
Other: He is used to others referring to him by a nickname, so he doesn’t mind it when people call him Ed or Eddy. He also enjoys writing but rarely uses a computer, so he writes traditionally with pen and paper.
Relationships:
Occupations: He works part time at a small but popular corner café called The Grind; he doesn’t really need a job, seeing as he has quite a bit of money.
Residence: Origin Apartments
Pets: He has a simple Black and White cat named Lola.
Likes: Reading, playing chess, sweet food, cats, the quiet, music, folding clothes, the color blue, and loud people
Dislikes: Peer pressure, dogs, bright lights, not being able to read without glasses, spicy things
Hobbies: Reading, playing chess, brushing Lola, writing, doing laundry

A boy looking no older than sixteen or so ran a hand over his tattooed head before exhaling slowly. In fact, he was a bit past the age of seventeen, but most thought he looked younger because of his lack of hair and his rather large eyes. He watched the various men and women walk past, all wearing various shades of green and brown. His wardrobe clashed horribly, what with it being orange, yellow and brown, but of course he didn’t mind. He took enormous pride in being an airbender and would never think to wear any other colors.
A lump of white and brown fur was wrapped around his calf, and upon further inspection, one would see it as a flying Lemur, one of the creatures native to any Air Temple. This one, named Kiki, was currently dozing as she was curled around the airbender’s leg, her butt sitting on the top of his shoe.
The airbender hadn’t been standing by himself long when an earthbender show up with a smile. “Lee, good to see you again,” Kaal said with a smile as he clasped hands with the taller man. Lee was a sturdy looking man that was close friends with Kaal. Kaal usually stayed with him and his family when he visited their village. “How’s Jin and the rest of your family doing?”
“They’re all doing wonderfully. What with the canal up and the pirates gone, we’re very happy. Jin’s almost seven now,” Lee said with a smile. “He’s only getting more and more charismatic, that little brother of mine,” he said.
“Almost seven. Wow,” Kaal said, hardly able to believe it. “I can still remember the day he was born. You hated him,” Kaal said, poking Lee in the side. Lee chuckled.
“Only the idea of him,” he said, resigning himself to the truth. Both men looked around with soft smiles. “The gift Roku gave us really helped our town. Everyone is in such high spirits. Nothing can bring us down.”
Kaal nodded, a light breeze blowing his robes this way and that. “I’m glad to hear it.” His grey eyes pinned to the horizon, his smile widened. This town always had a subtle way of making Kaal feel extremely at peace, which was a rare thing outside of his own Eastern Air Temple. He Appreciated the town, and its people, for that exceptional gift.
Kaal jumped as a horn blared in the distance. He turned to Lee, and his eyes widened when he saw Lee’s calm expression had turned to one of panic. Panic mixed with anger. “The pirates again?” Kaal asked, hands clasped at his sides. He stepped forward, and Kiki awoke with a jolt. She chirruped and jumped up to Kaal’s shoulder, but he barely noticed. Lee was shaking with rage.
“It’s only been a few months! Why are they here?!” he said, the pebbles around his feet shaking. Kaal looked at his friend with worry before putting his hand on his shoulder. He squeezed it reassuringly.
“I’ll help,” he said simply, knowing his friend well enough to know he wanted to protect his village. Lee smiled in gratitude and began to run toward the harbor, where the ships’ smoke could be seen. Kaal followed, speaking to the lemur on his shoulder as he did so. “Kiki, go to where Tao is in the stables. Both of you stay safe,” he said. The lemur chirped in his ear and flew off obediently.
They reached the harbor within minutes, but what they saw there was not what anyone expected. Shouts of fear, anger, and pain filled the air, and several roves were already on fire. People were running right and left, while several earthbenders stood valiantly and fought back. And in the middle of it all was…Kaal blinked, stepping back as Lee shouted something profane.
In the middle of all the chaos, the ones causing it was a battalion of marching firebenders. In military uniform. Kaal was taken aback. What was going on?!

Diet: Ed has always liked salads and fruits and breads, but after his Flying Box genes became apparent the only thing that tasted good to him was fruits and salads. He used to like white meat and fish, but he has no appetite for it anymore. He likes water and white wine, but drinks wine only on special occasions. He got drunk once and it was not a pleasant experience for him, so he usually stays away from any alcohol other than the occasional glass with a good meal.
Skills: He can read exceptionally quickly and absorbs information at a heightened speed. Quick to analyze situations and react accordingly, Edmund is very good at quick reactions. When in his aviary form he has exceptional hearing, keen eyesight and an impressive sense of smell, though lack of echolocation makes him vulnerable in the dark.
Schooling: Bachelors degree in English Literature
Habits: Bites his fingernails and lips when nervous.
Criminal Record: None
Roleplaying Experience: Quite a long time. Not sure how many years exactly but at least six or seven.

Time had slowed. It must have.
Julien watched as the other James – the evil James, Julien’s head couldn’t help but echo - lifted Zandria carelessly and held her in front of the bullet that was aimed at him. He tried to move, but it felt like his feet were glued to the ground. Julien saw Zandria’s eyes widened, and she looked her captor in the face before the bullet hit her in the back. He saw the blood flow from her back and out her mouth, and Julien screamed. He ran towards the two, wanting nothing more but to bring Zandria to safety – would it even be worth it by then? She was shot clean through…
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw movement, but he didn’t much care. He was too angry and scared to care enough to see anything but Zandria and the black-haired murderer – you should be angry with the other James, Julien. He’s the one who fired to gun…
He was too angry to see that Vic was coming out from behind a wall.
He was glad he still had the pipe in his hands. Something shot at him, and his peripheral vision pointed it out to him just in time to swing the pipe and smack it out of the way.
He was so close to the black-haired James now…he wanted to lift the pipe and swing it into his head as hard as he could…
And suddenly something grabbed his arm.
He was stopped mid-charge and he reflexively pulled away from the firm grip on his arm, shouting, “Let me go!!” Don’t you see?! He has to pay for what he’s done!! But the grip was firm on his arm and he couldn’t move. He turned to hit away whatever was holding him, but what he saw made him pause. It was a boy, but it wasn’t. He was made of a grey-black sort of mist. It looked solid, but at the same time it looked like he could stick his hand through his chest and would only feel air.
Julien wrenched his gaze from the being that was holding him away from Zandria and looked to her with a pained gaze. He wanted to get to her so badly…
